
Nathan David Smith is an actor, singer, playwright, producer, and self-labeled "strong mover". Raised in the "Jewel of The Prairie" -- Grinnell, Iowa. Nathan quickly became immersed in theatre when his sister brought home a DVD of Cats. In high school, although incredibly stage fright, Nathan auditioned for his first show, and luckily, had no lines.
Nathan graduated from Drake University (Des Moines, IA) with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. During his collegiate career he also studied at The National Musical Theatre Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center. He's also been a student of Ryan Scott Oliver and Lindsay Mendez's Actor Therapy for over 2 years in NYC.


In addition to performing, Nathan had his playwrighting debut with his short play Honesty in an Apology. The show premiered at NYC Summerfest 2019 and was nominated for "Best Short Play" of the festival. Nathan also Co-Found and acts as Director of Development for NYC based nonprofit: Thousand Faced Theatre Company. In association with TFTC, he is also a Co-Host and creator of The Professional Pretenders Podcast, which can be found on all streaming platforms!
